Focus on policy, not personalities
Hamish Rutherford’s opinion piece (January 30) on Andrew Little’s leadership criticised, of all things, lack of policy detail.
Why now, when Labour’s comprehensive, democratically developed policy principles and policies, which Rutherford is apparently unaware of, was, like other parties’ policies, completely ignored before, during and after the election campaign?
The headline itself indicates the media’s focus on personalities, rather than policy, and its distorted presentation of politics as a kind of reality TV show. It isn’t a game; the consequences are real. MARILYN HEAD
