HISTORY ON SCREEN To mark the 175th anniversar­y of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, Nga Taonga Sound & Vision is screening the films Rere Ki Uta Rere Ki Tai: The Voyage (1988) and Waka: The Awakening Dream (1990). The films reflect on the Treaty and depict monumental waka voyages and celebratio­ns of Maori selfdeterm­ination in the last century. Taranaki St, 7pm, $6-$8. AUTHORS’ TALK Tangata Whenua focuses on redefining Maori history and the understand­ing of migration patterns in New Zealand. Authors Atholl Anderson and Aroha Harris will be at the National Library from 5.30pm to speak about their book. Corner of Molesworth and Aitken St. Free. CYCLE EXPO The Wellington Cycle Expo features talks by keen Wellington riders such as a 77-year-old who still races, a woman who has lost 100kg since she started cycling, and demonstrat­ions such as a lactic acid test with MP Trevor Mallard.
