Kiwis foil 250kg drug run

A New Zealand Defence Force surveillance plane spotted a suspect vessel in the Indian Ocean, tipping off the Australian navy which intercepted the ship. Australia’s HMAS Arunta intercepted the vessel off the coast of Tanzania on Wednesday and found a stash of 250kg of heroin. The P-3K2 Orion surveillance aircraft spotted the suspect ship while patrolling the Indian Ocean as part of the Combined Maritime Forces, a maritime coalition covering 8.2 million square kilometres.
