Wood is staying put
All Whites striker Chris Wood is blocking out talk of a move to the English Premier League after pledging his commitment to Leeds United.
While Leeds missed out on the Championship playoffs, Wood became just the sixth player in the club’s history to score 30 goals in a season to earn their player of the year award.
The 25-year-old led the league in goalscoring and his stellar form is sure to attract interest from Premier League clubs when the transfer window opens on July 1.
But with his contract at Elland Road not running out for another two seasons, Wood is fully focused on making another charge for the top flight with Leeds.
‘‘I’ve been working hard all season to do what we have been doing, trying to get promoted to the Premier League,’’ he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
‘‘We’re all looking to build next season now.’’
Wood is currently preparing for the All Whites’ Confederations Cup campaign next month.
