Top dollar for city apartment

APREMIUM apartment in a sought after Wellington Central complex has been auctioned for more than $120,000 above its rateable value. The property, at 9E/164 The Terrace, had a rateable value of $360,000 and sold for $481,550.

Kasia Pstrag and Nick Major, of Harcourts, say the pristine one-bedroom apartment was built to the highest standard in 2005 and stood out for its quality, class and security.

‘‘It was in the highly sought after Montreaux complex and offered spacious open-plan living, a contempora­ry open-plan kitchen and tons of natural light,’’ Pstrag says.

‘‘It had a generous double bedroom, a balcony with city views, and access to a heated swimming pool, gym and media room.’’ AN ENTRY-LEVEL apartment with three bedrooms in Hataitai has been auctioned for $100,000 above its rateable value.

The 97sqm residence, at 2/16 Marewa Rd, had a rateable value of $310,000 and sold for $410,000.

‘‘It was nicely presented with an upgraded kitchen and plenty of space for living and entertaini­ng,’’ says Mike Robbers, of Harcourts, who marketed it with Socheata Tep.

‘‘The deck off the lounge had stunning views across Hataitai to the sea and there was a designated car park on the road above.

‘‘It was a great entry level opportunit­y.’’ A SUNNY Aotea home has been auctioned for nearly $100,000 above its rateable value.

The property, at 111 Te Puia Drive, had a rateable value of $630,000 and sold for $727,000.

‘‘It was a single-level four-bedroom home with spacious open-plan living options and excellent indoor-outdoor flow,’’ Andy Cooling, of Harcourts, says.

Built in the 2000s, the 200sqm dwelling was on a 796sqm section with fenced gardens that was close to schools, shops and transport. A WHITBY home with privacy, modern decor and doubleglaz­ing has been auctioned for $90,000 above its rateable value.

The property, at 55A Spyglass Lane, had a rateable value of $530,000 and sold for $620,000.

‘‘It was a lovely single-level home with three bedrooms and open-plan living,’’ Glen Foster, of Harcourts, says.

Built in the 2010s on a 448sqm section, the 148sqm house was sunny, private and designed for easy care.

It previously changed hands in August 2015 and was for sale only because of a job transfer for the vendors. AN ASCOT Park home with views across Porirua Harbour to Mana Island and the South Island has been auctioned for $493,000.

The property, at 21 Doncaster Tce, had a rateable value of $415,000.

Gavin Faulke, of Harcourts, says the low-maintenanc­e, three-bedroom house was built in the 1970s but offered all the benefits of a new home, including spacious living and a functional kitchen.

‘‘It was superbly positioned on a sunny 911-square metre section.’’
