As a GP, Dr Mary English is very familiar with the work of Mary Potter Hospice. She said she receives a number of invitations to events, but can’t attend them all because ‘‘my patients must come first’’. However, when she received an invitation to support Mary Potter Hospice she was delighted to help out. English visited the hospice inpatient unit in Newtown earlier this week to join volunteers, staff, and patients for a Hospice Cuppa. A Hospice Cuppa is a way to have a good time and support hospice, which needs to raise more than $5 million each year to provide free care to about 850 patients annually. Hospice is encouraging all tea enthusiasts, cake bakers and scone eaters to host their own Hospice Cuppa. Anyone interested can be provided with posters, balloons, Dilmah tea and Flight coffee, as well as donation buckets.
