Library’s laptops stolen
Ten laptops were stolen from a Lower Hutt library over the weekend. Police are investigating the theft from the temporary site of the Stokes Valley Library. Last year, staff and books were packed up into the Stokes Valley Freemasons Lodge Hall while development started on its new home in the Koraunui Stokes Valley Community Hub. A police spokesman said 10 laptops were reported stolen on Monday. The theft meant computer services were now unavailable and staff have advised people wanting to use computers to visit Naenae or Taita libraries instead.
