Maiden victories

First-time winners Hannah Oldroyd and Matt Davy won the Auckland Marathon titles yesterday.

Melbournian Davy ran a personal best 2:24:13 over the undulating course, due in part to unrelenting chase of Josh Maisey (Auckland), who finished just seven seconds behind.

In the women’s race, Christchurch runner Oldroyd overhauled Leah Fitzgerald and Ruby Muir with just a few kilometres to run.
