Toilet selfie charge
A teenage resthome worker posted a selfie with an 88-year-old resident on the toilet online because she ‘‘wanted to share her love of work’’. The woman in the picture, who had cognitive impairment, has since died, Christchurch District Court heard yesterday when the 18-year-old pleaded guilty to recklessly making an intimate visual recording. The teen’s name has been suppressed until the court considers an application for her to be discharged without conviction on February 27. The name of the Canterbury rest home where the teenager worked in August when she posted the photo on a private Instagram account was also suppressed.
