Buenos Aires date and rules push for new trade minister
Trade Minister David Parker leaves this weekend for a World Trade Organisation conference in Buenos Aires. Parker said he would be focused on securing better rules to limit subsidisation of agriculture and fisheries, an issue New Zealand had pushed at two previous WTO rounds. New Zealand had been chosen as vice chair for the conference and he was looking to help broker a successful outcome, Parker said. The WTO has taken on fresh prominence as the Trans-Pacific Partnership stalls.
