Lego lovers rejoice! Te Papa’s Brickman Wonders of the World festival opens today. The exhibition, which runs until February, offers a journey around the world through huge Lego models. Ryan McNaught (aka Brickman) and his team spent a jaw-dropping 5000 hours building the 50 Lego masterpieces on display including the Taj Mahal, Michelangelo’s Statue of David, the Empire State Building (complete with King Kong), Leaning Tower of Pisa, and Arc de Triomphe.

A pair of young Wellington filmmakers took home the Karma Cola People and Planet Award during the annual Outlook for Someday film challenge this week. Beyond The Label by Jodi Melody and SarahLouise Crawford is a dance piece that pits the love for fine and affordable clothing against the realities of sweatshop labour.
