WHAT’S NEW
Inspired by the emerging trend of gender-neutral beauty and the street styles seen in London, KMS’s latest collection is called Genderless Grooming. The streets of London, with their history of androgynous looks and cultural diversity, showcase this shift in societal thinking. KMS has translated the approach of embracing individuality and disregarding traditional styling norms into three new products: the new Hybrid FINISHers are grooming products with a twist: each has an unexpected hybrid benefit for short, long, curly or straight hairstyles - perfect for any gender. HAIRPLAY Hybrid Claywax $36; HAIRSTAY Molding Pomade $36; HAIRSTAY Hard Wax $36. Available from KMS salons.
It’s not compulsory to make hay to drink Mac’s Hay Day farmhouse ale. It’s a style that came from a beer brewed for farm workers in Belgium in the 19th century, but it’s a brew available to the most hardened townie.
Available on tap or in 4-packs for $14.99, the Hay Day is made from Pilsner and Crystal malts while Taiheke hops are added at the end of the kettle boil to give it bitterness and citrus-like flavour.
Mac’s says the special ingredient is the French Saison yeast which is aromatic, peppery and spicy. It ferments the beer out to a dry finish and leaves an unexpectedly silky and rich feeling in the mouth.
