Sumner Trophy

The man of the match in tomorrow’s national men’s football league final will be awarded the Steve Sumner Trophy. For the third year in a row, Auckland City will play Team Wellington in the final of the ISPS Premiership at QBE Stadium, with a new trophy for the game’s best player given out, named after one of New Zealand’s legends of the game. Sumner is best kn own for being the first All Whites captain to take New Zealand to the World Cup in 1982.
