Ko’s late stumble

-

Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko has slipped down the leaderboard at the ANA Inspiration tournament at Rancho Mirage, California, the first major of the year. Ko had got off to a good start but undid a lot of her fine work with a double bogey on the par-five 18th hole to finish with a twounder 70. The 20-year-old, who had a disappointing 2017, showed signs of getting back to her best and was in the top three when she got to four-under with a birdie at the 16th at the US$2.8 million (NZ$3.9 million) event. She ended the day tied for 20th, five shots behind the leader, Pernilla Lindberg, of Sweden.
