A strong earthquake shook Papua New Guinea yesterday, a month after a more powerful quake killed at least 125 people. Damage and casualties were not immediatel­y reported. The US Geological Survey measured the quake at magnitude 6.9, with a depth of 35km and the epicentre about 162km southwest of Rabaul. A magnitude 7.5 quake on February 26 forced 35,000 people from their damaged homes and injured dozens.
