Wahine thanks

-

As a youngster 50 years can seem like an eternity, but of course once you reach that milestone it’s merely a blink of an eyelid on life’s journey. As one of the youngest (six months old) survivors from the Wahine shipwreck, on behalf of all survivors, including my mother and sister, and those who have since passed on, I want to acknowledge and thank the bravery and dedication of the hundreds of volunteers and rescue personnel who gave so freely and generously of their time and effort so that the young ones like me had the opportunity to reach half a century. Your efforts were not in vain and are remembered.
