Hundreds lose power

More than 1000 homes in Wellington lost power yesterday afternoon. Wellington Electricity said 1187 properties in several parts of Wellington, including Newtown, Hataitai, Te Aro and Roseneath, lost power just after 5.15pm due to an unspecified ‘‘feeder fault’’. By 6pm, power had been restored to about 400 homes; however, 680 customers were still affected. The problem was fixed by just before 8.30pm.
