Awards say big yes to Nope Sis­ters

in­clud­ing the arts, sport, com­mu­nity ser­vice, tourism, busi­ness and vol­un­teer­ing.

This year, the Lo­cal He­roes awards re­ceived 669 nom­i­na­tions through­out the coun­try. Of those, the judg­ing panel se­lected 322 can­di­dates to re­ceive medals.

Any mem­ber of the pub­lic can nom­i­nate an in­di­vid­ual or com­mu­nity or­gan­i­sa­tion in the awards pro­gramme.

Nom­i­na­tions for the 2019 New Zealan­der of The Year Awards closed on Septem­ber 18.

Ten Lo­cal He­roes semi­fi­nal­ists are due to be an­nounced later this month.
