Awards say big yes to Nope Sisters

This year, the Local Heroes awards received 669 nomination­s throughout the country. Of those, the judging panel selected 322 candidates to receive medals.

Any member of the public can nominate an individual or community organisati­on in the awards programme.

Nomination­s for the 2019 New Zealander of The Year Awards closed on September 18.

Ten Local Heroes semifinali­sts are due to be announced later this month.
