Tourism has be­come the back­bone of many com­mu­ni­ties, pro­vid­ing work and sig­nif­i­cant eco­nomic con­tri­bu­tion, ac­cord­ing to Tourism New Zealand chief ex­ec­u­tive Stephen Eng­land-Hall.
