Road worker injured

A road worker has been taken to Wellington Regional Hospital after being hit by a car involved in a two-car crash in the Wellington suburb of Wadestown yesterday. A Capital and Coast District Health Board spokesman said he was in a stable condition. Wadestown Rd was closed between Lytton St and Blackbridge Rd following the crash, shortly after 2.15pm. The driver of one of the vehicles was also taken to hospital and was in a stable condition. The crash occurred on a tight bend in the road. Wadestown residents said the roadworks had been ongoing for about three weeks while the area’s footpaths were being renewed.
