Restaurant Brands to bring Taco Bell chain Down Under
Mexican-style fast-food chain Taco Bell is coming to New Zealand. NZX-listed company Restaurant Brands New Zealand announced yesterday that it had reached an agreement with Taco Bell Restaurants Asia to bring the Taco Bell brand to New Zealand and New South Wales in Australia. More than 60 Taco Bell restaurants would be built in New Zealand and Australia between January 1 and June 2024, it said. Restaurant Brands owns franchise agreements for KFC, Pizza Hut, Starbucks and Carl’s Jr. Restaurant Brands currently owns and operates 36 Taco Bell stores in Guam and Hawaii that made $19.4 million in the 2018 financial year. Taco Bell is a subsidiary of New York-listed Yum! Brands. It produces made-toorder tacos and burritos and serves more than 40 million customers weekly worldwide.
