Brodie Retallick (rugby), Codie Taylor (rugby), David Andrew Liti (weightlift­ing), David Nyika (boxing), George Bennett (cycling), Michael Venus (tennis), Nico Porteous (freeskiing), Paddy Chapman (croquet), Patrick Bevin (cycling), Richie Mo’unga (rugby), Ross Taylor (cricket), Sam Gaze (cycling), Sam Webster (cycling), Scott Dixon (IndyCars), Scott McLaughlin (Supercars), Steven Kent (surf lifesaving) and Tim Robertson (orienteeri­ng) are the other men’s nomination­s.

The champion men’s and women’s sevens outfits are in a team of the year category that includes women’s doubles squash players Joelle King and Amanda Landers-Murphy, double scullers John Storey and Chris Harris, men’s sprint cyclists Eddie Dawkins, Ethan Mitchell and Sam Webster, the under-17 national indoor cricket team, the Junior Black Fins (surf lifesaving), men’s and women’s underwater teams, the World Cup bronze medal-winning under-17 women’s football team, the New Zealand women’s kayaking team, the women’s Black Sticks hockey side, women’s double scullers Brooke Donoghue and Olivia Loe and the women’s rowing pair of Grace Prendergas­t and Kerri Gowler.

Five-time winner Sophie Pascoe has again been nominated for the Para athlete of the year along with Adam Hall (para alpine skiing), Aotearoa NZ Para Waka Ama V12, Commonweal­th Games para-triples bowlers Barry Wynks, Bruce Wakefield and Mark Noble, Corey Peters (para alpine skiing), Holly Robinson (para athletics), Michael Johnson (para shooting), Nicole Murray (para cycling), Rachel Maia (para climbing) and Scott Martlew (para canoe racing).

The nomination­s for the emerging talent category are: Amelia Kerr (cricket), Anna Leat (football), Dylan McCullough (triathlon), Gaibreill Wainohu (waka ama), Hamish McLean (para swimming), Jocelyn Hong (ice figure skating), Josh Armit (yachting), Kanah Andrews-Nahu (weightlift­ing), Kyle Glogoski (baseball), Lewis Clareburt (swimming), Maddison-Lee Wesche (athletics), Maxwell Darling (basketball), Rebecca Jones (archery), Risaleaana Pouri-Lane (rugby) and Zac Reid (surf lifesaving).
