Actor plans world’s tallest statue of Jesus

Construction of the world’s tallest statue of Jesus Christ is due to start soon in Mexico. Christ of Peace will stand 77m, would tower over Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro and is more than twice the size of the tallest statue of Jesus, the 36m Christ the King in Swiebodzin, Poland. The project is being promoted by actor Eduardo Verastegui, who started as a model and made his name in soap operas. The statue will depict Christ with outstretched arms as if offering an embrace.
