Neve’s gift to her PM mum
Clarke Gayford has shared the gift Neve Ardern Gayford gave Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern for her nine-month birthday, and vice versa.
In a heartwarming tweet posted on Thursday night, Gayford wrote, ‘‘For her 9-month birthday today, we received the gift of crawling.
‘‘While her mum got her the gift of having a safer country to grow up in,’’ he added, alluding to news of New
Zealand banning military semi-automatic rifles and assault rifles following the Christchurch terror attacks.
Comedian Urzila Carlson enthusiastically replied: ‘‘Go Neve! It’s so much fun when they start moving, you can do so much more with them, seeing them toddling along the beach is so cute!’’
Baby Ardern Gayford was born on June 21 last year at Auckland City Hospital.
At the time, Ardern said: ‘‘I’m sure we’re going through all of the emotions new parents go through but, at the same time, feeling so grateful for all the kindness and best wishes from so many people. Thank you.’’
