A free pass to the wealthy
Geoff Bertram (A strange view of ‘fair’
power pricing, Mar 20) is to be commended for his analysis of the reports of the Electricity Price Review.
I questioned, in The Evening Post letters section, the effectiveness of energy minister Max Bradford’s reforms in reducing power prices to consumers. The result of my criticism was a vicious letter from Bradford, sent to my home address and criticising, among other things, my intelligence. He could have responded through the paper, but I imagine that he would not have liked the tone he used to me published publicly.
I hope that Energy Minister Megan Woods will see the Electricity Price Review reports for what they are: a free pass to the already wealthy shareholders in the power generators and distributors at the cost of the other 90 per cent of consumers.
