The Panthers match was Roache’s first game back from injury since being sidelined with a back complaint in the ninthround win over St George Illawarra in early May and just his sixth appearance of the season.
The 23-year-old also missed the entire 2018 season with a back injury.
Roache is expected to be out of action for between six and nine months.
