Answer to their angst?
I applaud Verity Johnson’s honesty and openness about her ‘‘quarterlife crisis’’ (Feeling of impending crisis is perfectly normal, Aug 2). I’m sure her angst is shared by many young women of today.
We’ve all been sold the lie that a successful career alone can be totally fulfilling, but we’re now wondering what next?
Perhaps the ‘‘traditional markers of meaning for older generations’’, such as religion and marriage, have been too readily dismissed as irrelevant when they may in fact offer hope and a solution to the self-described ‘‘crisis’’ young people are experiencing?
