Answer to their angst?

I applaud Verity Johnson’s honesty and openness about her ‘‘quarterlif­e crisis’’ (Feeling of impending crisis is perfectly normal, Aug 2). I’m sure her angst is shared by many young women of today.

We’ve all been sold the lie that a successful career alone can be totally fulfilling, but we’re now wondering what next?

Perhaps the ‘‘traditiona­l markers of meaning for older generation­s’’, such as religion and marriage, have been too readily dismissed as irrelevant when they may in fact offer hope and a solution to the self-described ‘‘crisis’’ young people are experienci­ng?
