A pedestrian has died on a rural highway after being struck by a car in Waikato. Police were alerted to the collision between a car and pedestrian on Te Ohaki Rd, at Rangiriri, at 12.30am yesterday, acting Inspector Simon Cherry said. The pedestrian died at the scene. CIB and the serious crash unit were making inquiries. The death came hours before another pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in rural Bay of Plenty.
