Hearty thanks to all

-

We hear a lot about problems with the health system. I would like to share some good news and possibly assist others in a similar situation.

After several years of limited energy and breathlessness, and acceptance that my heart condition meant I should stick to a sedentary life, my GP requested a cardiac review at Wellington Hospital.

Following that review, I was given the opportunity for an ablation procedure performed by Matt Webber, who carefully explained the procedure.

Six weeks on I have had a significant recovery of function, and feel better than I have for a number of years.

The improvements mean I can continue in employment that involves a commute into the city from Ka¯ piti.

I have renewed energy for a range of physical activities and have been able to change to a lower dosage of medications.

The ablation has been a turning point in the treatment of my heart condition and I am very grateful to Webber, his surgical team and the Capital & Coast District Health Board.
