Majority of Scots back independence: Poll
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon warned Boris Johnson yesterday that his opposition to a second independence referendum was ‘‘completely unsustainable’’ after a major poll showed a majority of Scots backed separation. The survey, conducted in the wake of Johnson’s visit to Scotland a week ago, put support for independence at 52 per cent when undecided and non-voters were excluded. In a major shift in public opinion, 47 per cent said there should be a new vote by 2021.
