Steyn quits tests

-

South Africa’s great fast bowler, Dale Steyn, announced his retirement from test cricket yesterday as his country’s highest wicket-taker and eighth on the all-time list. He ended with 439 wickets from 93 tests at an average of 22.95, after a wicketless final test appearance against Sri Lanka in February. The 36-year-old was one of the world’s most feared fast bowlers in his prime but his latter years were curtailed by a serious shoulder injury. He will continue to play limited over matches.
