Free bus rides on offer

A Wellington company is offering free bus tours to get people exploring the capital city again. Rover Tours Group (RTG) says its hopon, hop-off bus service will be free to Wellingtonians and visitors alike from this weekend until the end of July. Owner Scott Courtney said he wanted to support Wellington’s tourism operators, during these ‘‘tough times’’. RTG operates five tourism brands in the region including Lord of the Rings Tours and Seal Coast Safari. The hop-on, hop-off bus service is a 90-minute loop with nine stops at key tourism destinations, starting at Te Papa Tongarewa. One person from each group on any tour must sign in using the Rippl app, and social distancing protocols will apply.
