Nats’ record excellent
I take exception to Philip McIntyre’s comments (Letters, July 16) about National’s performance in its previoustwo terms.
Most economic observers consider it did an excellent job to help NZ recover from the global financial crisis, the Canterbury earthquakes and Pike River disaster. During this period the National government borrowed large amounts to keep NZ Inc afloat, but did not fling money around aimlessly.
They steadily rebuilt government finances and left a strong economy for Jacinda Ardern and the Labour-led Government. In addition they invested record amounts in health, education and social welfare, despite economic restraints.
I am confident a National-led government under Judith Collins leadership will be the best to rebuild New Zealand after the
