Self-driving car enthusiasts look forward to the day when they can simply key in a destination and curl up for a snooze. Unfortunately for one Canadianmotorist, that is some years away. Police charged a 20-year-old man from British Columbia with dangerous driving yesterday after hewas found fast asleep in the front seat of his Tesla electric car as it hurtled along a motorway on autopilot at 150kmh. Officers were alerted to the speeding vehicle near the small town of Ponoka, Alberta, in July. When they caught up with the 2019 Tesla Model S they found ‘‘both front seats completely reclined and both occupants appearing to be asleep’’, police said.
