Cashless concerns

There are two issues with abandoning cash fares on trains (Wellington commuters will be able to use Snapper cards on some trains from October, May 4). Many of the 1 per cent who are homeless have no bank account and cannot afford the fee to buy a Snapper card. They usually pay cash.

Secondly, when the guards go, as they surely will, who will operate the disability ramps?

Both groups are being disadvantaged. Brian Jones, Manor Park
