Isolation after contact with Australian Covid case

One person has been transferred to a managed isolation and quarantine (MIQ) facility in Christchurch after being identified as a contact of someone with Covid-19 in Sydney. Quarantinefree travel from New South Wales to New Zealand was paused on Thursday after two cases of Covid-19 were found in Sydney with no clear links to the border. No further locally acquired cases had been identified in NSW as of yesterday afternoon. The Ministry of Health said 5214 people who had arrived in New Zealand from NSW since April 3 had been contacted and given advice. One person had been transferred to a MIQ facility after they were identified by NSW health authorities as a contact of a case. That person had been at a location of interest at the same time as one of the two positive cases recently identified in Sydney, the ministry said. The person’s test results were expected by today.
