Street closures

The closure of streets in Wellington city will be disastrous for retail businesses. Ask the Mayor of Upper Hutt City, Wayne Guppy, what happened when the main street was closed to vehicles a few years ago. It was opened again eventually but too late for some businesses, which had closed due to loss of customers.

Shoppers in Upper Hutt who take advantage of the free two-hour parking available, and have all the same variety of businesses as other centres, enjoy shopping as a more relaxed event.
