Burst pipe floods carpark

A burst water main lifted concrete and blocked the entrances to stores in Porirua yesterday morning. Chris Edge said he was on his way to work about 6.45am when he came across the flooded carpark outside Harvey Norman on Parumoana St. Ian Dennis of Wellington Water said a 150-millimetre pipe had burst, and contractors were investigating a 300mm pipe next to it in the carpark. Parts of Eldson, Takapūwāhia and Porirua central experienced water outages.
