Beautify this humdrum drive
This week I used Transmission Gully Motorway and found the profusion of the South African daisy ‘‘pink ragwort’’ added an attractive dimension to my otherwise humdrum drive.
I must admit, though, that it is not liked by those who acknowledge it’s a threat to native species.
I would much prefer to be delighted by an attractive planting of trees and shrubs which would add beauty to the landscape. There is nothing much at present.
Can I ask landowners both public and private to plant this corridor so that the journey may be made less tedious and the road become a scenic attraction?
A mix that includes European exotics that give contrast through the seasons would suit well. The beauty of bare branches in winter, a flush of green in summer, autumn colours as the seasons move on.
I must add: please, no pine trees!
