RNZAF Crew HISTORY CORNER

Neil Tonkin sent us these photos of one of the RNZAF’s Catalina flying boats and its crew. The Catalina is flying over Fiji and the photos were taken in August 1945. Neil’s father Syd Tonkin is one of the crew. The crew are: top row from left: F/O N Carr-Smith, F/O H Lane, Sgt W Peed, Sgt S Tonkin and Sgt J Reid. Bottom row, from left: Sgt D Rechnied, Unknown and D Read.
