Library needed now

Good on you Tony Sutcliffe (letters, Nov 11) for not feeling the need for a proper Wellington City Library.

Your view, however, is not shared by many people. These include students who need to use the larger shared space, readers who want to browse the extensive collection, readers who love to read there, researchers who need access to the extensive collection not currently accessible, children who are brought to reading by being read to in a space full of books, those without an internet connection. The list goes on.

The current space in both Manners and Brandon sts is made even smaller as spaces are shut off for JPs and meetings. Bring back a library worthy of our city. Soon.
