Go it alone

A great performance by the Black Ferns on Saturday (even if the red card did virtually hand the match to us on a plate), but isn’t it time we took the next step and had women form their own rugby union with their own coaches etc.

At the moment women’s rugby (and cricket for that matter) is very much dependent on men and lives very much on the coat-tails of the men’s game.

Women’s sport needs to be totally independent to flourish or it will always be in the shadow of its male counterpart. Let’s do something about it.
