A neglected wharf

-

Members of the Maupuia and Miramar communities, plus those outside the area, could well feel aggrieved that surrounding bay wharves, that is Karaka Bay and Seatoun, are or have been upgraded ( 120-year-old Wellington wharf reopens following $2.8m upgrade, Nov 15) and open to the public while the lonely Miramar Wharf is in grand isolation.

Admittedly the owner of Seatoun wharf appears to be Wellington City Council – a different entity to that of Miramar – but it doesn’t avoid the question: ‘‘Why not Miramar?’’

I note Hutt City Council is upgrading, or has, its Petone and Days Bay wharves.
