Event toasty warm

-

The weather gods have been kind to Toast Martinborough as it made a post-pandemic return yesterday after a three-year absence. Eight wineries took part in the 30-year-old event across seven sites in Martinborough. Twenty bands booked to perform throughout the day, while celebrity chef Nadia Lim and her husband Carlos Bagrie made appearances with meet and greet sessions. Event general manager Ariel Codde said the event had been ‘‘a long time coming’’, and while there had been a small downpour, it hadn’t made things difficult. ‘‘It’s been lovely,’’ she said. ‘‘We’ve had beautiful, sunny weather. Everyone’s really enjoying themselves, having a great day out and having the best Sunday.’’ Participating wineries included Palliser Estate, Luna Estate at Parehua Resort, Ata Rangi Vineyard, Vynfields, Tirohana, Moy Hall and Te Kairanga joined by Martinborough Vineyard.
