Fox settles for second
Ryan Fox finished with a flourish at the seasonending DP World Tour Championship, shooting a four-under 68 in his final round in Dubai to claim 19th place. That meant the Kiwi had to settle for second in the prestigious Race for Dubai as Rory McIlroy added the European No 1 status to his position as world No 1 with a steady final round at the Jumeirah Golf Estates. Fox needed to finish ahead of McIlroy on the leaderboard to win the points race, but in the end was 11 strokes behind the fourth-placed Northern Irishman, who went 16-under for the tournament, won by Jon Rahm. Fox finished just over 128 points shy of McIlroy on the order of merit.
