2014 after a jury found him guilty of sexually assaulting patients in the back of a St John ambulance. King appeared at his first Parole Board hearing earlier this month. He was recently transferred to Rolleston Prison in Christchurch and in June he began the Kia Marama child sex offenders programme. He is expected to graduate from the programme in June. The Parole Board noted King’s ‘‘extraordinarily wide range of sexual offending’’ on victims aged from 11 to 56, and said following the completion of the programme King may well require further rehabilitative work.
