Fringe Festival returns in 2023
The New Zealand Fringe Festival is returning this summer, promising bold, unexpected and ahead-of-the-curve arts experiences. The festival – which has run for 32 years – will run from February 17 to March 11 next year, organisers said. It follows the model of other international open-access Fringe festivals including Edinburgh and Melbourne, where artists register their events to perform within a three-week festival season. Many take the opportunity to present boundary-pushing work. It boasts alumni including Flight of the Conchords stars Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement. Following the reopening of international borders, next year Fringe will welcome back artists from all over the world. The full programme is due to be released on December 15 at fringe.co.nz
