Poor work ethic

-

It was with dismay and incredulity that I read of the two Welsh nurses who have spent eight months waiting to be processed for work in New Zealand and have given up (Nov 22).

I recently experienced the malaise of government departments when attending court recently as support for an employee.

The court opened at 10am and then closed after half an hour for morning tea. A 90-minute session of hearings was then closed again at 12.30 for a 90-minute lunch break.

The court convened again for a further two-hour session before we were all bundled out of there at 4pm. In all, four hours of work for the day.

Do all of our government departments have this terrible work ethic or are our courts just a law unto themselves?
