Westmere Walkway

-

Cattle-wary walkers be warned – encounters of the bovine kind are guaranteed on this farmland-traversing trail.

The walk is a 4.6km loop that starts with a steepish hill and continues along flat ridges that offer lovely views of Whanganui, before descending close to the end, and then climbing slightly to return to the start point. The walk, was created in 2013 by the Whanganui Rotary Club, in conjunction with generous farmers happy for walkers to get a taste of bucolic life. There are no toilets or water stops on the trail. Entrance Kelvin Street or Brunswick Road, Aramoho.
