Demented Budgie Pottery

It’s all about having fun with clay for Pounawea-based potter Jude Winchester. The selftaught artist (her best friend’s mum was a potter) moulds everything by hand and all manner of organic shapes and forms emerge from her productive studio in the garage. From kakapo to geese, and foxgloves to seeding cabbages, this variety of output almost seems to surprise even Winchester herself, who says that often the result just emerges out of the clay as if by magic.
